CHURCH
OF THE MASTER
SHANNONDALE
WEEKEND OCTOBER
1 -3 2010
GENERAL
INFO
You can arrive anytime you want on Friday, October 1st. Those
who would like to go down early in the day are welcome
to do that,
those who need to leave after work are welcome to do that.
We want this to be something that everyone is able
to do.
We
have set it up so that you can be there one or two nights
as fits
your schedule. It is a little less than 3 hours from
Florissant
to Shannondale.
In order to keep costs as low as possible we ask that everyone
bring their own food for Breakfast and Lunch and we’ll
have our dinners as a group. There is plenty of refrigerator
space to store food. For those who would rather pick up food
on the way, there is a Wal-Mart in Salem, which is about
30 minutes before Shannondale. There isn’t really anywhere
to go out to eat unless you go back to Salem or into Eminence
(25-30 miles
in the other direction!)
If
we have at least 20 adults Shannondale will prepare our dinner
for us, that is the plan for Saturday
night.
A
float trip is planned for Saturday for those who are interested,
of course this will be weather permitting.
There
is plenty to do at Shannondale and in the surrounding
area
for those who don’t want to float. We’ll have
information and directions for short side trips. There is
a beautiful mill
and stream not far away that is really pretty to visit.
Hopefully
we can enjoy a campfire each evening!! Maybe someone
will bring a guitar and we can have a sing along?? Of course
we
will make
sure to have the makings for s’mores!!
Shannondale
church offers worship at 10:00am Sunday morning,
it is casual dress.
There
are some games and a game room at Shannondale but if you
have some games, either indoor or outdoor that
you would
be willing
to bring that would be great!!
Anyone
that would like to contribute snacks would be welcome to
do that too!!
Please
don’t
hesitate to contact Sue Kupfer if you have any questions
about the weekend.
We
do need to make plans and will need to have all registrations
in by September 19th, at which point half
of the costs are due. All money is due no later than Sunday,
September 26th!!
There is room for approximately 70 people,
