Church
in the Yard - 2009
Sunday
September 27th was a special day at Church of The Master.
We held "Church in the Yard". Chairs were set
up outside on the lawn. The Bell Choir was set up to play.
George Ragland was in place with his "mini organ" as
was the "Three Guys" musical group of Mike Haenchen, Tom
Kaemming
and
Walt Williams. The weather cooperated 100% as we had clear
skies
and a
cool morning. A traditional start to the service was very
enjoyable, but rather than a sermon Pastor Mike had the
congregation break up into small groups and develope in
their minds an ideal commercial spot for Church of The
Master. Many great ideas came out of this. These were shared
with the congregation. Pastor then broke us up into larger
groups and we developed the same concept even further.
These were then shared with the congregation. We all got
to listen to what many felt that Church of The Master meant
to them.
Communion
was served and most people came up to the front to receive
the elements. Communion was avaialble for those who chose
to stay in their seats. This was a great worship service
which left all of us feeling very good about our church
and those that we worship with.
After
the service we had our fellowship time with coffee and
donuts provided inside. George provided great organ music
in the santuary. Then came lunch and in traditional COTM
form a super meal was provided with plenty to eat for everyone.
Ken
Quinlan set up a bounce house for the kids to play in outside.
All
in all it was a terrific day of worship and rekindling
our relationship with Christ and Church of The Master.
Hats off to the many that made this a worship Sunday that
wont be forgotten.
